Programme Synopsis

The Central Provident Fund (CPF) Act, whilst straightforward, can be an area of confusion between businesses and the authority with regard to the various tax requirements. The recent case in Singapore played out in the High Court involving a gym instructor and the CPF’s attempt to recover $417,000 in back-years’ CPF contributions is an example.

Beyond that, are you aware of the other changes to the CPF Act? More importantly, do you know the tax implications and the underlying business implications?

In this session, join Mr Sandesh Kumar, Director and Ms Sharon Chiam, Associate Director from People Advisory Services – Mobility, EY Corporate Advisors Pte Ltd as they take a deep dive into the concepts and interpretations of CPF amidst the current audit landscape. Joined by Accredited Tax Advisor (Income Tax) Ms Kerrie Chang, Partner, People Advisory Services – Mobility , Ernst & Young Solutions LLP in the Q&A session, come exchange perspectives and have your doubts clarified in this area.

Programme Outline

• Gain a deeper understanding of the key concepts and interpretations of CPF Act against the current audit environment
